About the Author

Kage Alan grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, the Motor City...called that because it has lots and lots of cars despite the number of unemployed residents. He began writing puppet plays in 1st Grade–using Fonzie action figures–and later discovered alliteration with "Pickle Pony Gets A Puzzle" in 2nd Grade. After retiring from the food industry at age 14 and achieving a surprising upset victory with 2nd place as Most Dramatic in his high school mock elections, he graduated and attended Grand Valley State University in Allendale, a really quiet city. Kage graduated with a BA in Creative Writing and Film & Video and has since returned to the aforementioned suburb of Detroit where he resides with his previously unmentioned half–Asian and lovingly wholly domineering partner.

After spending 3 1/2 years writing somebody else's book–Honor Unbound–back in 1993, Kage ventured out on his own and wrote his first comedy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to My Sexual Orientation. It was during this time he discovered he actually had a sense of humor. Work began on Lord of the Loins shortly thereafter, but revisions would be put on hold while touring to promote A Funny Thing... and the publication of Honor Unbound. He is currently involved in writing his 4th novel.

Kage celebrates New Release DVD Tuesday each week when not at the day job, which pays for New Release DVD Tuesday. He enjoys buying DVDs, traveling overseas (and buying DVDs there), eating sushi, fibbing to his partner about what DVDs he may or may not admit to picking up that week, making fun of people who work at Blockbuster, playing Laser Tag, attending Sci–Fi conventions and allowing the everyday goofy behavior of himself and those around him to inspire his writing. He has been featured in a Life Journey Tele–Course and his first comedy was used in a Gay Literature class at GVSU. Kage also boasts about having extensive useless knowledge of 80s b–movies as well as their soundtracks.
