Trivia Question #8 For Butt Pirates In Space Giveaway!

Thursday, May 30th, 2013

It seems like we’ve been doing this for weeks! Uh, well, actually, we have. And we only have two books left to give away. So before you skip to the bottom below,  please have a look at My Rules.

I honestly thought the last question we had would completely baffle everybody and what happened? The first person who answered got it correct. Right, so, back to the drawing board.

I Said It Felt Like a Mole on His…

Thursday, May 30th, 2013

The difficulty with trying to say something significant in a previous blog post is always in coming up with something worthy for the post following it. There’s only so much soul-wrenching material I can pull out of myself at a time. But there have been a few things that have happened since I last wrote. One fun item involves the Loganite sinking her fangs into a little jest from my friend Jeff, who admitted he thinks of me as a Ken doll. That’s a unique writer’s way of saying he doesn’t see me as a sexual being. It’s okay, though. I know the truth and there’s a reason why my hubby has looked at me many times over the last 18 years and said “There’s no chance of you topping me tonight! I want to walk in the morning.”

Trivia Question #7 For Butt Pirates In Space Giveaway!

Tuesday, May 28th, 2013

I know, I know. The suspense is killing you, right? You WANT one of the last three autographed copies (by four of the five authors) of Butt Pirates In Space I have left, especially since you can then turn around and sell it on Ebay for thousands of pennies! Before you get that itchy trivia question typing finger out, please have a look at My Rules.

Am going to warn you, too, that this question isn’t exactly an easy one. You may, just may (and this is only a suggestion), have to e-mail, IM or text one of the authors of the anthology to help you answer the question. I wouldn’t suggest asking me. I’ll give you the wrong one just because I’m a nice guy.

The Unbearable Lightness of Learned Humility

“You are the villain, your own infidel.
Devise your demise, create your own hell.” – (‘Infidel’ by Ego Likeness)

The older I get and the more mistakes I make and reflect upon, the more I try not to repeat them. The problem remains in coming to terms with what one has done and trying to make amends when possible. I wouldn’t exactly call that easy and this isn’t what I’d intended on writing about today, but things that happened over the weekend put me in the mindset. If I don’t get it out now, it’ll be lost and it’s important I get this off my chest.

Classic Blog Post: The Hilarity of Stupidity

Saturday, May 25th, 2013

Original MySpace Publication Date: July 13, 2009

I witnessed two events last week that deserve to be pointed out, documented and thoroughly enjoyed by the masses. Honestly, I live for this crap because if I wrote and put it in a book, nobody would believe that it actually happened. You know the kind I mean, right? The kind that when you get home, you immediately call your bestie and tell him/her all about it, then they embellish it to their friends and next thing you know it’s an urban legend. Well, maybe not quite that, but darn close!

Trivia Question #6 For Butt Pirates In Space Giveaway!

Friday, May 24th, 2013

It’s Friday! And while some of us are getting new carpet installed, some of you aren’t. But we’re all waiting for today’s trivia question, right? Including today, there are only 4 more copies available for you to win! So in case you’re just joining us or you need a refresher, please check out My Rules.

Plus, since today is the last day of the workweek, why make you work too much harder? I’m once again giving you a 20% chance of being right just by guessing. Why? Because that’s the kind of guy I am.

May I Have A BLT With My BDSM and PG13 Horror?

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

I’ve been told I’m an acquired taste. Not everybody likes my sense of humor and that’s okay. My mother doesn’t like horror movies ever since my father took her to see The Exorcist all those years back. But I like them, so I figure there’s a 50/50 chance you will, too. Same with me. Now, when it comes to horror movies, I’m pretty old school. Give me a Friday the 13th, Halloween, Phantasm, Nightmare on Elm Street any day of the week and I’ll kick back with a cup of tea, snuggle with a pillow and be delighted as a kept man by his half Asian master as can be. Not all things stay the same, though. Writing doesn’t. Movies don’t. And I’m not entirely sure I get this whole PG13 horror movie craze to say nothing about BLTs…er…BDSM.

The odds are considerably easier for this particular question since you have a 20% chance of being right just by guessing. See? Easier.

Trivia Question #4 For Butt Pirates In Space Giveaway!

Monday, May 20th, 2013

If you’re just tuning in to our Butt Pirates in Space giveaway, then please be sure to check out My Rules.

Okay, Friday’s question was too easy since the second person nailed it. That’s actually not a decent way of judging it, though. Let’s say that the correct answer was arrived at in half the time it took for the others. But that was then and this is now. Let’s see how well you do with a question geared for a Monday.

The Weekend We Found Xanadu That Was

Monday, May 20th, 2013

This was another special weekend, mostly because like the conventions I attend, it only happens once a year. And it typically involves a convention. My best friend from college (Don) comes down with his girlfriend (Lindsay) and we attend the Motor City Comicon. We’ve done this for the last ten years or so (which includes years prior to his meeting his girlfriend), only we skipped it this year. Instead, we drove around, listened to lots of Journey (one of author Dorien Grey’s favorite groups…so be sure to ask him about them!), and proceeded to explore the area around us in ways we never had before. It was a slightly surreal adventure where we sought out interesting things for Lindsay to photograph with her new camera and it turned into a wonderful bonding experience.
